There is an active national call centre that offers passport-related information on their number. This is a toll-free number (1800-258-1800) and offers both automated IVR (interactive voice response) as well as citizen service executive.
The executives are available from 8:00 am - 10:00 pm. Outside these timings, you can make use of the IVR facility.
