The process begins with securing a Work Permit from the Ministry of Economic Development, valid for 90 days from its issue date. Upon arrival, you are initially granted 15 days to manage your visa formalities, provided the passport used matches the one mentioned in the Work Permit application.

5. You must obtain a valid work permit issued by the Ministry of Economic Development within 90 days of the issue date.
6. A health screening report from a government-authorized hospital or clinic is required.
7. You must provide the receipt of the IM29 form, which is generated through the Xpat System.

How to Apply for Maldives Work Visa from India?

Here's the step-by-step guide for applying for Maldives work visa from India.

1. Obtain a Work Permit: Begin by securing a Work Permit from the Ministry of Economic Development. This permit is valid for 90 days from the date it is issued.
2. Arrival and Initial Period: Upon arrival in the Maldives, you will be granted a 15-day period to complete the visa formalities. Ensure that the passport you present matches the one used in your Work Permit application.
3. Visa Application Submission: Your employer or representative is responsible for submitting the work visa application. This can be done through the Xpat Online System, which was introduced on 17th November, 2019.
4. Processing and Appointment: Once the application is submitted online, it will be processed within 48 hours. After processing, the applicant can request an appointment to submit the passport(s) for visa stamping. The entire visa process typically takes 3 working days, and you will be notified once your passport is ready for collection.
5. Traveller Declaration: Submit a Traveler Declaration electronically via the IMUGA portal within 96 hours prior to your departure from the first port of embarkation.
