Those holding an Expatriate Pass can pursue education up to the highest level without needing a Student Pass if they have an offer from an accredited higher education institution. ✅ For Dependent Pass holders over 18, converting their Dependent Pass to a Student Pass is mandatory.

All foreign students enrolled in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) with an approved Visa Approval Letter (VAL) must obtain a Visa with Reference (VDR) from Malaysian Representative Offices abroad before entering Malaysia.

Important Note: Once your student pass is endorsed on your passport, you'll receive an i-Kad. This biometric residence permit, featuring your photo and identity details, is the ONLY ID recognised for foreign nationals by the Department of Immigration in Peninsular Malaysia. It's essential to carry it at all times.
