For a short-term stay for business, tourism, and family visits, you need to apply for a Schengen visa (Type C) and submit the following documents.

A Schengen visa allows you to stay in Croatia for up to 90 days. Students and employees who wish to stay there longer need to apply for a Long-stay Visa (Type D). You need to submit the following additional documents apart from the standard documents like passport, photos, and medical insurance.

Who can Apply for a Croatia Visa?

According to the Croatia visa requirements, the following people can apply for a Croatia visa from India.

  • Indian citizens having a valid reason to visit Croatia like business meetings, tourism, education, employment, and family reunifications.
  • Indians having a valid passport with a validity exceeding their intended stay in Croatia by at least 3 months.
  • Individuals who have confirmed accommodation in Croatia.

How to Apply for a Croatia Visa?

Now that you know the basics of Croatia visa, let us understand how to apply for a Croatia visa. You can apply for all visa types through the authorised visa application Centre — VFS Global. But you also have the option to apply directly at the Croatian embassy.

  1. Complete the Visa Application Form: Fill out the required visa application form. This form will collect personal information, details about your travel plans, and other necessary data for processing your visa application. Ensure all information provided is accurate and complete.

    You can fill up an online application in two ways:

    • Through the official website of VFS Global
    • Through the official website of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs
  2. Gather Supporting Documents: These may include a valid passport, recent passport-sized photos as per Croatia visa photo requirements, a travel itinerary, proof of accommodation in Croatia, travel insurance covering medical expenses, financial documents showing sufficient funds for the trip, and any additional documents specific to your visa type.
  3. Schedule an Appointment: Book an appointment at the nearest VFS Global Centre through the VFS Global website. For visa type other than Type C, contact the nearest Croatian embassy via email to schedule an appointment to submit your visa application.

  5. Pay Your Visa Application Fee: At the visa appointment, you'll need to pay the applicable Croatia visa fees. This fee is typically non-refundable, regardless of whether your visa application is approved or not.
  6. Wait for Your Visa to be processed: Croatia visa-processing time can vary depending on the type of visa applied. It is generally around 15 days. Occasionally, this time can be extended from 30 to 60 days.
