  • Proof of Financial Means- Documentation demonstrating financial ability to support oneself during studies in Belgium. The minimum subsistence requirement is EUR 803 per month. for the academic year 2024-2025 academic year.
  • Scholarship Attestation- Original attestation of an official scholarship providing a minimum of 803 €/month.
  • Financial Details of Sponsor- If sponsored by a Belgian or Indian sponsor, provide financial details of the sponsor.
  • Medical Certificate- Certificate from one of the Embassy's certified doctors, attesting that the applicant does not carry diseases endangering public health.

How to Apply for a Belgium Visa?

  1. If you are applying for a Schengen visa, visit the VFS Global website and download the application form. Take a printout and fill in the required details. Then you must select a visa application centre for your appointment.
  2. For other visa types, create an account at https://visaonweb.diplomatie.be/. Fill out and submit the electronic visa application request form on the website. Upon submission, you will receive a copy of the visa application form via email. Print the form and fill it up with your details.
  3. Visit the visa application centre selected during the application process.
  4. Bring along the required supporting documents, as well as the visa and service fees. Make sure you also carry your photos according to the Belgium visa photo requirements.
  5. At the visa application centre, have your picture taken live (mandatory for all applicants) and fingerprints taken if necessary (for short and long-stay visas).
  6. The Belgian Embassy/Consulate General will process your visa application. The Belgium visa processing time is around 15 days, but it can be extended up to 45 days.
