      The validity of a temporary RC is one month after which a vehicle owner is required to register his/her vehicle permanently. Thus, to obtain a permanent registration certificate, you will need the following documents:

      Documents Required for Ownership Transfer

      A vehicle’s RC can be transferred in three major scenarios. These include the death of the owner, the sale of the vehicle or the sale in a public auction. The following documents are required for ownership transfer:

      RC in original

      Form 29 (attested one copy)

      Form 30 in duplicate

      Form 31 in duplicate

      Valid insurance policy (Attested copy)

      Address proof of the purchaser (Attested copy)

      Valid PUC certificate (Attested copy)

      Prescribed fee along with penalty

      Attested copy of PAN card/Form 60 & 61

      Original copy of death certificate of the registered owner

      Affidavit by the applicant and other legal heirs

      Verification of vehicle Form 20

      Succession certificate issued by SDM

      Sale certificate form 21 issued by the Auctioning Deptt (public auction)
