Since the validity of a temporary registration certificate is 1 month, it is mandatory to get a permanent RC before the expiration of the temporary RC. For a permanent RC, a vehicle owner can apply in the same RTO with the following documents:

Select the "Vehicle Related Services" option from the "Online Services" dropdown given on the homepage

Click "Proceed"
Enter your RTO and vehicle number if required

If a vehicle owner is driving his/her vehicle without the payment of road tax, then they will be liable to pay heavy penalties for non-payment of tax. The taxation authority of Himachal Pradesh makes the owner liable to pay the penalty at the rate of 25% per annum of the tax due from him/her.
When you purchase a vehicle on lease or hire purchase, it becomes mandatory to get it added to your vehicle RC. Such addition of hypothecation refers to endorsement. To get a vehicle hypothecation endorsed in Himachal Pradesh, you will need the following documents:
