A temporary registration is required as soon as you purchase a vehicle in Delhi. Following are the documents required for temporary registration of a vehicle in Delhi:

Visit the Parivahan official portal
From the Informational Services dropdown, select the "Vehicle Related Services" option
Now select your state, enter vehicle registration number and proceed
From the list of services, select the “Pay Road Tax” option
Enter the required details and proceed to make the payment
Pay the road tax using the online payment mode
Once you have made the payment, take a printout for future reference.
If you fail to pay Delhi road tax within the specified time period, you may be subject to hefty fines.
The penalty can be a portion of your vehicle's cost or a sum not exceeding the annual tax payable in addition to the applicable road tax.
