Non-payment of road tax in Bihar within the stipulated time period may lead to heavy fines. The fine for non-payment of road tax depends on the penalty period and is as follows:
If repeated, you may have to pay two times the sum equal to a one-time payable tax.
15 to 30 days (penalty period): 25% of the total tax
30 to 60 days: : 50% of the total tax
60 to 90 days: Equal to the tax
90 days and above: Double the amount of tax
If a particular vehicle has been hypothecated on load, it becomes essential to enter such hypothecation in your registration certificate. Such an entry is referred to as the endorsement of hypothecation in the RC.
