Punjab National Bank IFSC Code: PNB MICR Code & Address in India

The Reserve Bank of India assigns the Indian Financial System Code/IFSC code to uniquely identify every bank branch participating in the NEFT. It is an 11-digit alpha-numeric code, which is used by electronic payment system applications such as NEFT, RTGS, and CFMS. It is essential to transfer funds from one bank account to another.

IFSC is a unique code and it is different for every branch. Two branches can never have a similar code.  The initial 4 letters of PNB’s 11-digit IFSC code are 'PUNB', and the specific branch code is mentioned in the last 6 characters. For example, the Punjab National Bank IFSC Code for Golf Course Road branch is PUNB0984500. Here, 984500 is the branch code.

Using IFSC, RBI monitors all the banking transactions in an impeccable manner. RBI tracks all the electronic transactions such as NEFT, IMPS, and RTGS in a seamless manner. Keeping a track of millions of transactions every day is not possible without IFSC code.
