Select high-quality, seedless raisins. Organic raisins are preferable since they’re free from harmful chemicals. Raisins are rich in nutrients like fiber, iron, and calcium—key elements for growing children.
Begin by thoroughly rinsing the raisins to remove any dirt or residue. Once cleaned, place 1/4 cup of raisins in a clean bowl and pour 1 cup of water over them. Allow the raisins to soak overnight or for a minimum of 8 hours. This process softens the raisins and helps release their nutrients into the water.
In the morning, transfer the soaked raisins and water into a small pot. Add 1 more cup of fresh water and bring it to a boil over medium heat. Once it starts boiling, reduce the heat and simmer for about 10 minutes. This step helps extract all the essential nutrients from the raisins, creating a nourishing drink for your child.
After simmering, turn off the heat and allow the raisin water to cool down. Once it’s cool enough to handle, strain the water into a cup, discarding the soaked raisins. The resulting liquid will be golden in color and packed with nutrients.
