Ducati Monster 796 Insurance

Ducati Monster 796(M796) is the twin sibling of Monster 795. Where 795 is an Asia specific motorcycle, the 796 is aimed at Europe/America. It is one of the most accessible bikes from the premium bike maker not only in terms of pricing but as well as performance & handling. Being later in its product lifecycle when launched in India gave Ducati the chance to price the bike at a mouth-watering price. Although currently it has been discontinued in India in favour of its bigger sibling Monster 821.

Design:

  • M796 is similarly designed as Monster 795.
  • The naked bike looks beautiful in flesh with the trademark Ducati red trellis frame, curved tank, round head light split in half & two under seat exhaust. Ducati looks absolutely stunning & is an attention grabber wherever you ride it.
  • The bike comes in two colour options Racing Red & Stealth Black.
  • Bike’s dimensions are 2100 mm x 780 mm x 1060 mm (L x W x H)

Power & Performance:

M796 is powered by 803cc Desmodromic L-twin engine. The power delivery is brisk on M796 with crisp response from the word go. The engine doesn’t like being ridden below 3000rpm but once your cross that there is manic performance in each & every gear. The bike loves to be revved & there are no vibrations to speak of.

Braking & Handling:

M796 is light for its size at 187kg wet. You can carve corners on the mountains, ride fast on highways, cut through traffic you name it. Aided by a good suspension setup the M796 handles our roads rather well. Bike has 43mm upside down telescopic forks in the front & dual shock absorbers at the rear. It rides on 120/70 17’ front & 180/55 17’ rear wheels.

  • The seating position on M796 is on the higher side & meant for taller riders. The foot pegs are rear set & you sit on it with a slightly forward stance.
  • M796 gets a Twin 320mm disc brakes in front & a single 245mm disc at the rear.
  • The bike sadly misses out on ABS.

What Insurance cover to opt for:

M796 is an attention grabber with oodles of power. Also being a CBU the parts are all imported from Thailand/Italy & that makes it a costly bike to keep & maintain.

  • A premium product like this needs 0% depreciation insurance as it goes a long way in keeping the repair bills down in case of a fall.
  • M796 is an attention magnet as it looks absolutely stunning. That is why it is a good idea to have an insurance that gives you complete cover from theft.
  • Always prefer an insurance that gives you cashless benefit.
