Two-wheeler Roadside Assistance Cover for Superbikes

Roadside assistance is a self-explanatory term. It can be purchased as a rider with the bike insurance renewal by paying an extra nominal insurance premium. The cover provides emergency assistance to insured bike riders who get stuck during the journey due to a breakdown.

The insurer provides roadside assistance services including repairing, towing, emergency fuel services, etc. This add-on cover minimizes the inconvenience that may arise during the journey. Any benefit consumed under this plan will not be counted as a claim. Thus, the No Claim Bonus remains intact even if the policyholder utilizes this bike insurance add-on cover to repair their superbike.

Inclusions of Roadside Assistance Cover in Bike Insurance

From minor repairs, to towing and refueling, you can save yourself from various glitches that might arise while driving on the road. For details check out the list of inclusions under the emergency RSA cover-

  1. Tyre Issues

A flat tyre is a common issue faced by bikers. This mostly happens when the bike is not maintained or continuously runs on poor road infrastructure. In the case of a flat tyre, a mechanic will assist with a spare tyre, or the bike will be towed to the nearest network garage for repair.

  2. Lost Keys

If the bike keys are lost or misplaced, the insurer shall help to retrieve the key within a radius of 100 km from the residence of the policyholder.

  3. Emergency Fuel Assistance

During the journey, running out of fuel can be a nightmare for a biker. With the help of RSA, the insurer will arrange 5 liters of fuel to continue their journey.

  4. Battery Issues

An unexpected battery rundown can be a problem when the rider is on a road trip. In such a situation, the insurer will make the necessary arrangements to start the bike so that the rider can continue the journey without any worries.

  5. Towing Assistance

Due to mechanical or electrical breakdowns, the biker might face challenges in the middle of the journey. For such issues, a mechanic will provide on-spot repairs or the bike shall be towed to the nearest network garage. However, the cost of spare parts and material consumed to repair the insured bike will not be covered under the RSA plan.

  6. Pick-up and Drop

The insurer can also arrange a pick-up and drop facility from the place the insured bike broke down to the policyholder's residence.

Exclusions of Roadside Assistance Cover in Bike Insurance

Every insurance cover comes with certain exclusions under which the claims are not settled by the insurer. Here are some exclusions-

  • If the insured superbike is involved in illegal activities such as racing.
  • If the insured superbike is used beyond the limit of the owner's manual.
  • If the policyholder does not intimate the insurer beforehand about the incident.

Emergencies come in unannounced! Whether it is a flat tyre or your bike’s empty fuel tank, a 24x7 roadside assistance cover will help you in times of such trouble.
