Aprilia Mana Insurance
Aprilia sells only the Mana 850 GT(Mana GT) in India which goes to show India’s love of fairing, as internationally naked version of Mana GT sells in a lot of countries. The fully faired version weighs a good 15 Kilos more than naked version, however, it doesn’t affect handling of Mana GT in any way as the centre of gravity on this machine sits low. It features CVT automatic transmission making city & highway riding a breeze. It gets three riding modes Sport, Touring & Rain.

- Bike features a half fairing in front with an adjustable windshield which helps with the touring duties.
- The steel trellis frame holds the partially visible 90* V-Twin Engine with the radiator in front, just under the fairing.
- The bike has been designed to keep the centre of gravity low.
- The 16 litre fuel tank sits under the rider seat; this keeps most of the mass under the rider & makes the bike ‘feel’ 40 kilos lighter than it actually is.
- The huge tank acts as a storage space which can accommodate one full face helmet along with motorcycle papers. It features light for night time usage as well as a 12V port to charge phones on the go.
- At 2080 mm x 800 mm x 1270 mm (L x W x H) Aprilia ManaGT is quite a tall bike. However, short riders won’t be uncomfortable on it.
Power & Performance:
The V-Twin on Mana GT has a linear power delivery. The torque comes in early that helps in over taking vehicles both in city & highways. The CVT transmission is smooth with a nice feel when up-shifting or downshifting.

Braking & Handling:
Due to the low centre of gravity Mana GT handles very nicely for a 200kg+ bike. The corners are handled with aplomb. The 43mm non-adjustable front upside down forks work well on Indian roads. However, they dive under hard braking. The mono shock at the rear is offers adjustment for both spring preload & rebound damping. 120/70 17’ tyre in front & 180/55 17’ tyres in the rear give Mana GT nice handling both on straights & twists.
- The seats are big & plush for comfortable city & highway riding.
- Mana GT features dual 320mm disk brakes at front & a single 260mm disc at the rear.
- The bike features safety net of dual channel ABS provided by Continental.
