Hyderabad Traffic Police Challan & Traffic Fines

Being the seventh most populated city, Hyderabad has become one of the fastest-growing cities in India. This has also led to a lot of traffic in the city as well as traffic rules violations on the road. To curb this, Hyderabad Traffic Police is using the latest technology to catch and fine the traffic rule-breakers across the city. Read further to get an insight on Hyderabad traffic rules and challans implemented by the traffic police.

      Hyderabad Traffic Rules

Hyderabad being a metropolitan city has strict rules to maintain traffic and road safety across the city. The Motor Vehicles Act of 1988, has laid down certain traffic rules for every vehicle owner in the country to strictly follow on the road.

With an increasing number of road casualties, Hyderabad Traffic Police have become more vigilant. They have installed high-quality CCTV cameras to catch the perpetrators & traffic rule violators and punish them with hefty fines.

However, with good road infrastructure, the cases of overspeeding have also increased over the years. In order to ensure road safety of people and adherence to traffic rules, the Government has made certain amendments to the Motor Vehicles Act of 1988, which came into existence on September 1, 2019. The amended Act has increased the traffic fines substantially so that every vehicle owner on the roads of Hyderabad as well as across the country follows them religiously to prevent earning a traffic challan.

Documents Required to Avoid Hyderabad Traffic Challans

The Hyderabad Traffic Police has made it compulsory for every vehicle owner to carry the following documents with him/her while driving to avoid Hyderabad traffic fines. Take a look:

      1. A valid car driving license
      2. Registration Certificate (RC) of your vehicle
      3. Pollution Under Control (PUC) Certificate
      4. A car insurance policy

In case a car driver is unable to show any of these documents to the traffic police, he/she will be considered as a traffic rules violator and may have to pay a fine.
