PM KISAN is a Central Government Scheme that provides financial benefits to farmers with a fixed income of Rs. 6000 annually.
The amount is transferred in 3 equal instalments of Rs. 2000 every 4 months.Â

*Note: Earlier, only small and marginal farmers holding cultivable land of up to 2 hectares were eligible to get PM KISAN Nidhi. The government removed the landholding limitation in May 2019.
The eligible farmers can avail of various benefits by subscribing to PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana 2023, which are:
Eligible farmers are provided benefits of quarterly income with the following details:
Rs. 6000/year is paid to all the eligible farmers’ bank accounts
The sum is transferred in 3 equal instalments of Rs. 2000 every 4 months duration of:
April to July
August to November
December to March
Under PM KISAN, the farmer can avail of short-term loans through Kisan Credit Card (KCC) with the following features:
Loans at cheap interest rates
Avail loans of up to Rs. 3 lakhs without any collateral
Provides in-built coverage of crop insurance
Offers flexible loan repayment options
As per the eligibility criteria of PM KISAN Yojana, all the landholding farmer families are eligible to avail of the benefits.
Definition of Family:
A family consists of a husband, wife and minor children
It must hold a cultivable land listed in the State/UT land records

Beneficiaries from Higher economic strata that are not eligible to get benefits under PM KISAN are as follows:
Persons with institutional landholding ownership
If any member of the farmer families belongs to the following categories:
Holding constitutional posts at present or earlier
Present or former Members of Parliament/ State Legislative Assemblies
Ministers of Centre/ State Governments
Mayors of Municipal Corporations, and Chairpersons of District Panchayats
Serving/ retired officers and employees of Central/ State Government Ministries /Offices/Departments.
Serving or retired officers/employees of Central/ State PSEs
Serving or retired officers/ employees of Attached offices /Autonomous Institutions under the Government
Regular employees of Local Bodies (Excludes Multi-Tasking Staff / Class IV/ Group D employees)
All retired or superannuated pensioners getting a minimum pension of Rs.10000/month (Excludes Multi-Tasking Staff/ Class IV/ Group D employees)
Persons earning from professions like Doctors/ Engineers/ Lawyers/ Chartered Accountants/ Architects
All income taxpayers
To apply successfully in PM KISAN Yojana, the farmers must provide the following details:
Citizenship proof
KYC documents
Bank account details
Aadhar Number
If an Aadhar number is not issued: Aadhar Enrolment Number with an identification card (Driving License/ Voter Id Card/ NREGA Job Card)
Note: The farmer must have an Aadhar number, as the Kisan Samman Nidhi is released based on a database linked to the Aadhar card.
The process to enrol into PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana the farmer can follow these methods:
Method I: Contact the Revenue Officials/ village Patwari/ Designated Officer and provide all the required details to enrol in PM KISAN Yojana
Method II: Visit the nearby Common Service Centre (CSC) and complete the registration process upon submitting the applicable fees.
Method III: Complete self-registration through the “Farmers Corner” section on PM KISAN online portal.Â
Method IV: Complete the online registration process through the mobile app. Download the PM KISAN mobile app from the following:

Step 1: Visit the PM KISAN portal of the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare
Step 2: Go to the “Farmers Corner” section and select the “New Farmer Registration” option
Step 3: Fill up the following details on the New Farmer Registration Form page to check if the farmer is already registered in the system
Rural/ Urban Farmer Registration
Aadhar number
State of the farmer
Step 4: Fill in the captcha and press the “Search” button. If the system displays no database of the farmer, a window will pop up asking “If you want to register yourself?”
Step 5: Click on “Yes” to apply for new registration
Step 6: Enter all the credentials and press on “Save” button
Follow the instructions mentioned further in the form and complete the enrolment to PM KISAN Yojana.
The State/UT Governments prepare a database of eligible beneficiaries belonging to the landholding farmer families by registering the following details:
Name of beneficiary
Age of beneficiary
Gender
Citizenship proof
Category (SC/ST)
Bank account details
Aadhar Number
If Aadhar number not issued: Aadhar Enrolment Number with an ID card (Driving License/ Voter Id Card/ NREGA Job Card)

If facing any issues with fund transfer the eligible farmers can check their PM KISAN beneficiary status online with the following steps:
Step 1: Visit the official website of PM KISAN Yojana
Step 2: Go to the section “Farmers Corner” and click on the “Beneficiary Status” tab
Step 3: Enter the following relevant information:
Mobile/ Registration Number
Captcha code
Step 4: Click on “Get Data”. The beneficiary information of the farmer will be visible.
Step 1: Visit the PM KISAN online portal
Step 2: Go to Section “Farmers Corner” and click on the tab “Beneficiary List”
Step 3: Select the relevant options for the following:

Block
Village
Step 4: Check the selected information and press “Get Report”
The farmer can view their beneficiary status in the PM KISAN Yojana 2023 List of the particular village.
