Education is the right of every individual, regardless of their gender. However, sometimes, due to various socio-economic reasons, females are not able to pursue it. In India, where families still prefer a male child over a female child, young girls face gender discrimination. To overcome this, the Indian government brings out The Savitribai Jyotirao Phule Fellowship for Single Girl Child. This scheme not only propagates the idea of being happy with a single female child in the family but also provides financial assistance for her higher studies.
