The benefits of the United India insurance car insurance policy are mentioned below:
United India Insurance Company provides three types of car insurance policies. They are:
Under the liability-only policy, the insurer will provide coverage to the policyholder against any third-party liability arising from an accident involving the insured car. Third-party liabilities include death, disability or bodily injury to the third party and third-party property damages.
However, the third-party liability policy does not cover own damages sustained by the insured vehicle. Moreover, the coverage provided under this car policy is limited to Rs. 7.5 lakh for property damage but is unlimited for demise or bodily injury to the third party.
A standalone own damage car insurance policy aims to compensate a policyholder if his/her car meets with an unforeseen incident. These incidents include accidents, theft, fire, calamities, etc. An own damage policy can only be purchased if you already have third-party insurance and wish to enhance coverage for the car’s own damages.
The Private car package or comprehensive car insurance policy provides coverage against damages sustained by the insured car due to unanticipated events like road accidents, theft, fire, natural calamities, etc. This car policy also covers damages sustained by the third party, such as death, injury and property damages.
Moreover, the extent of comprehensive car insurance can also be increased by purchasing additional covers at an extra premium.
Policyholders can also use the Car Insurance Premium Calculator to calculate and compare the premium of car insurance before purchasing a policy. Doing so will help them buy a policy that fits their pre-decided budget.

Under the Courtesy car add-on cover, the insurance company will compensate the policyholder for the expenses incurred in hiring a rental car when the insured vehicle is undergoing repairs.
However, to avail the benefits of this cover, the insured vehicle must be under repair for a minimum period of 24 hours.
Any depreciation sustained by the insured car is usually not covered under a standard car insurance policy.
Under the Nil Depreciation add-on cover, the insurance company will also cover the depreciation of the insured car and its parts in case of a partial loss claim for repairs.
Under the return to invoice add-on, the insurer will pay a difference between the Insured Declared Value (IDV) of the insured car and its current sale value in the event of a total loss of the insured vehicle.
This cover also pays for registration charges and road tax up to a maximum of 10% of the IDV in the policy.
Under the medical expenses add-on cover, the insurance company will reimburse medical expenses that have been incurred
on the hospitalisation of passengers of the vehicle in the event of a road accident.
This Engine Protect add-on compensates a policyholder against any loss or damage sustained by the engine or gearbox of the insured car.
Damages that are caused due to water ingression or leakage of lubricating oil will be covered under this add-on.
By purchasing a Personal Effects add-on cover, the policyholder will receive compensation
against personal items present in the car that were lost or damaged in the event of an unforeseen peril.
