The coverage offered under this TATA AIG Travel Guard Plus ranges from emergency medical expenses to trip and travel-related contingencies. Here are the key inclusions under this TATA AIG Travel Guard Plus policy:
If you sustain an injury or fall sick while on your trip abroad, this TATA AIG Travel Guard Plus policy will reimburse the covered medical expenses in case of hospitalisation. It will also covers expenses in case of daycare and OPD treatment as per the sub-limits of your plan.
The policy will also provide coverage for emergency medical evacuation, and repatriation of mortal remains in case of an eventuality.
The policy will cover injuries leading to continuous and permanent disablement up to the specified sum insured of your policy. In case the insured traveller suffers an injury during their trip, which directly results in their death, this TATA AIG Travel Guard Plus policy will pay their legal heir or nominee the sum insured payable under the policy terms.
The policy also accepts claims in case of disappearance due to forced landing, sinking, wrecking, or stranding of the common carrier in which the insured was a passenger. This benefit is applicable if the insured traveller's body can't be located within 1 year of any of the mentioned Acts of God.
This TATA AIG Travel Guard Plus policy will reimburse you for dental benefits that you avail during your journey abroad. It will also reimburse you for incurred expenses up to 30 days from the date when you got your first dental treatment. This feature is not applicable for pre-existing conditions or treatments that can be reasonably delayed.
The policy reimburses you in case your checked-in baggage is misdirected or delayed by the common carrier. It will also pay you in case of permanent loss of your checked-in baggage due to non-delivery at its destination or while returning to India.
In case you lose your passport abroad due to theft, you can claim for reasonable expenses that you will incur in getting an emergency certificate as well as the cost of applying for a fresh passport upon your return to India.
In case your eligible credit card is stolen or lost, this TATA AIG Travel Guard Plus policy will reimburse you for any unauthorised charges. This benefit is only possible for your eligible card and only up to 12 hours prior to your first reporting to the insurer.
In case you are unable to travel on the day of your scheduled departure for mentioned reasons, this TATA AIG Travel Guard Plus policy will reimburse you for reasonable expenses. These scenarios include:
The insurer will reimburse you in case you lose your International driving license during your insured trip abroad. You will be reimbursed towards expenses incurred in getting a duplicate IDL overseas or within 30 days upon your return to India.
In case you are unintentionally liable towards a third party for damaging their property or causing them bodily injury, then the policy will indemnify you for any legal liability such as defence costs and legal settlement. This benefit can only be claimed with the insurer's prior consent.
This TATA AIG Travel Guard Plus policy will pay the sum insured amount in case your flight is delayed more than the policy's specified deductible. It will also reimburse your non-refundable travel ticket costs if you miss your flight due to reasons such as mass bandhs, widespread strikes, accidents, etc. The insurer will also pay upto the mentioned sum insured for your cancelled flight.
This TATA AIG Travel Guard Plus policy offers coverage in case you get injured during your insured journey in India to the airport for your scheduled international departure. The benefit offers reimbursement in case of accidental death, disappearance, and injuries leading to disability.
It will also cover for any injury sustained upon your return to India while you're on your way back to your usual place of residence in India. For this reason, this benefit is also called 'Home-to-home' coverage, providing protection throughout the trip.
The insurer will reimburse you for actual additional expenses incurred in case you need to book an alternative flight or accommodation. This benefit can be availed in case of bounced booking of your pre-paid flight or accommodation arrangements.
The insurer will reimburse you for the purchase cost of your lost personal baggage in case it is stolen, or lost during your insured journey. You must submit an invoice for each item claimed under this benefit.
In case of your medical emergency abroad, this TATA AIG Travel Guard Plus policy will cover the actual cost of transporting one immediate family member to attend to your medical emergency abroad. This covers to and fro economy class tickets for a maximum of 7 days.
If the vehicle you rented on your insured trip is stolen, damaged or involved in an accident while in your custody, this policy will reimburse you for the rental vehicle excess.
In case your confirmed scheduled transport arrangement is shortened or diverted, forcing you to take an alternate transport to reach any pre-paid travel/tour or event, then the policy will reimburse you for the additional cost.
If you're diagnosed and required to quarantine due to a declared pandemic during your insured trip abroad, the policy will cover certain expenses as per the policy schedule.
