      Documents Required for Shriram Car Insurance Claim

      To raise a claim under car insurance by Shriram General Insurance Company, you will need the following documents:

      • Registration certificate
      • Copy of Driving licence
      • Duly signed claim form by the insurer
      • Motor insurance policy
      • Police FIR (optional)
      • For commercial vehicle or 8-seater cars, a fitness certificate is required

      Types of Shriram Claim Settlement Process

      Shriram car insurance offers two types of claim settlement process, cashless and reimbursement claims. Read to understand both:

      Cashless Claim Settlement Process

      Under a Shriram cashless claim process, the policyholder is not required to pay the amount of repair from his/her pocket. In this type of claim settlement process, you get your car repaired in one of the authorised network garages of the insurance company and they settle the claim directly with the authorised garage. This way you are saved from spending anything out of your pocket.

      Reimbursement Claim Settlement Process

      As the name suggests, this type of claim process requires you paying for repairs out of your pocket which is later on reimbursed by the insurer. In case you are getting your car repaired in a non-network garage, you will be required to pay for repairs from your pocket under your claim. After the repairs, the insurer will verify the repair estimates and reimburse you the repair amount to settle the claim.

      How to File a Shriram Car Insurance Claim?

      Here is how a policyholder can file a Shriram car insurance claim:

      Accidental Claims

      Accidental damages to the car can be claimed by following the below-mentioned steps:

      • Inform the insurer about the damages sustained by your car
      • The insurer will now register a claim and send a surveyor to make an estimate of the damages sustained by the insured vehicle
      • Submit the mandatory documents required for claim
      • Once the claim has been verified, send your car to the network garage for repairs. After the repairs, the insurer will directly settle the claim with the garage. If the repairs have been done in a non-network garage, the insurer will reimburse you the claim amount.

      Third Party Claims

      Here is how you can raise a third party claim under car insurance by Shriram General Insurance Company:

      • Lodge an FIR as soon as you have caused Third party damages or your vehicle has sustained TP damages
      • The TP claim will then be forwarded to the Motor Accidents Claim Tribunal for the verdict
      • The court will then decide the amount of compensation to be given under third party insurance
      • The insurer will pay the claim amount and settle the claim.
