      Documents Required for Oriental Car Insurance Claim

      Here is the list of the important documents required while claiming Oriental car insurance.

      • Oriental car insurance claim form
      • A copy of driving license (by whom the car was driven at the time of the accident)
      • RC of the damaged vehicle
      • Car insurance policy papers
      • Copy of First Information Report (in case of total loss)
      • Repair invoice and bills of repair
      • Any valid Identification proof

      Types of Oriental Car Insurance Claim Settlement Process

      Oriental Car Insurance provides both online and offline modes of initiating the claim process. The policyholder may avail of the claim by either cashless or reimbursement process.

      1. Cashless Claim Settlement Process

        Under an Oriental cashless claim process, the policyholder is not required to pay for repairs from his/her pocket as the insurer directly settles the claim. Thus this claim becomes cashless. Moreover, to get a cashless claim, one must get his/her car repaired in an authorized network garage of the insurer.

      2. Reimbursement Claim Settlement

        If the insured car is repaired in a non-network garage, then such a claim becomes a reimbursement claim. Under this type of claim, the policyholder first pays for repairs from his/her pocket, which is later reimbursed by the insurer upon verification.

      How to File an Oriental Car Insurance Claim?

      Here is how you can file accidental or third party car insurance claims with Oriental car insurance:

      1. Accidental Claims

        • Oriental Insurance Claim Intimation: Inform the insurer about the damages sustained by the insured four-wheeler. A claim will be registered upon intimation.
        • Damage Assessment: A surveyor will be sent by the insurer to assess the damages sustained by the insured car.
        • Documents Submission: Now, submit the required documents to the insurer for claim verification.
        • Claim Resolved: The insured vehicle will now be sent to the network garage for repairs. The claim will be settled cashless by the insurer. If the car has been repaired in a non-network garage, the insurer will reimburse you the claim amount after repairs.
      2. Third Party Claims

        • If your car has met with a third party accident, immediately inform the nearest Police station and get an FIR lodged. Next up, inform your insurer of the accident.
        • Third Party claims are taken up by the Motor Accident Claims Tribunal. So the insurer will forward this case to the MACT.
        • The court will decide upon the compensation to be paid to the third party. If you are the affected third party, then the court will decide the compensation to be paid. In either case, it's the court that will take the final decision to which the insurer will abide.
