  • Other Benefits: The plan also covers AYUSH treatments, bariatric surgeries, organ donation, and infertility procedures, providing extensive health coverage for employees and their families.

What Is Not Covered Under Digit Group Health Insurance?

Understanding what isn't covered is just as vital as knowing the benefits. Here are the key exclusions under the Digit Group Health Insurance plan:

  • Pre-Natal and Post-Natal: Digit Group Health Insurance policy does not provide coverage for pre-natal and post-natal expenses unless hospitalisation is necessary for the employee or the spouse.
  • Hospitalisation Without Doctor's Recommendation: The insurer does not provide coverage if an employee is hospitalised without being recommended by a doctor.
  • Claims During Waiting Period: For conditions like COVID-19, there is a 15-day waiting period before claims can be made. Any claims during this period will not be accepted.
  • COVID-19 Exclusive Cover: The policy does not allow standalone COVID-19 coverage. Treatment is covered only if the insured tests positive at a government-authorised testing centre
  • PED Waiting Period: The insuer does not provide coverage for pre-existing diseases unless the waiting period specified in the insurance policy documents is over. If you choose to cover more than 50 employees then there is a waiver for PED waiting period.

  • Step 3: Review the details once you access your existing insurance plan.
  • Step 4: If you want to add or remove any add-on, you can do so.
  • Step 5: Adding and removing any add-on will reflect your coming tenure's premium amount.
  • Step 6: Once done with it, make the payment using a debit/credit card, net banking, UPI, etc.
  • Step 7: Digit Insurance Company will send you the updated policy documents to your registered email and home address once you pay.

How Does Digit Group Health Insurance Work?

A company, whether an SME or a large organisation, opts for a Group Insurance Scheme to provide coverage to its employees. The premium amount is either paid by only the employer or by both the employee and employer. The insured and their dependents, such as a spouse, kids, etc,. get coverage for hospitalisation and medical expenses.

Since the employer purchased the Group Health Insurance plan for the employees, the sum insured and the plan opted by the employer will be the same for all the employees. The employees can also choose to add any of their dependents, such as their spouse, kids, or parents, by paying an additional premium
