      Here is the list of documents that you’ll need while seeking a claim for your car insurance. Let’s check these out:

      • Duly filled and signed Digit car insurance claim form
      • Copy of valid original driving license
      • Copy of Registration certificate of the car (RC)
      • Copy of Digit car insurance policy
      • Repair Bills and payment receipts
      • Copy of Police FIR (for theft and third-party claims)

      Types of Digit Claim Settlement Process

      Digit car insurance offers claims in two types: cashless claims and reimbursement claims. These claims can be sought in cases of accidents, third-party liabilities, and thefts. Here’s a brief on the types of claim and claim process:

      1. Cashless Claim Settlement Process

        Under the cashless claim settlement, the insured car is repaired in an authorized network garage of the insurance provider, and the claim is directly settled by the insurer. Thus, the policyholder is not required to pay anything from his/her pocket. 

      2. Reimbursement Claim Settlement Process

        If a policyholder gets the insured vehicle repaired in a non-network garage, then the reimbursement claim comes into the picture. Under this claim process, the policyholder is required to pay the bills and repair expenses from his/her pocket at first and then seek reimbursement later on by filing the claim form.

      How to File a Digit Car Insurance Claim?

      Here’s a step-by-step guide for different types of claims:

      1. Accidental Claims

        • Digit Claim Intimation: Call the toll-free number of Digit car insurance, i.e. 1800-258-5956, to inform them of the car insurance claim. 
        • Self-Inspection: Then, the customer care service will provide you a link for self-inspection on your registered mobile number.
        • Upload Pictures: Take pictures of the damage incurred by your vehicle from your smartphone via the guided step-by-step process.
        • Damage Assessment: The company will assess your damages and will provide you with an estimate of the damages that they will cover.
        • Claim Settlement: After that, you can choose the claim settlement process from cashless claims or reimbursement claims. Digit has 1000+ cashless garages spread across the country, offering cashless claims. 
      2. Third Party Claims

        • For this, first, the third party should go to the local police station and file an FIR.
        • Then, share your car insurance policy with the third party, who will then raise a claim for third-party liability.
        • Then the company will assess the claim and will settle your dues with the third party under the Motor Accident Claims Tribunal (MACT).
