Indian Bank IFSC Codes

Indian Bank IFSC Code is used to provide internet banking facilities to Indian Bank account holders. IFSC code facilitates easy electronic transfer of money. IFSC is the short form of Indian Financial System Code, which is given by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to all banks operating in the country.

You can find the 11-digit Indian Bank IFSC Code on the leaves of your Indian bank’s chequebook, passbook and/or on their website. IFSC helps in uniquely demarcating the bank branches across India while transferring money through NEFT and RTGS. The IFS code for each branch of Indian bank will be different. The IFSC code of the branch on Khandsa Road (Gurgaon) is IDIB000K192 and the IFSC code of the branch in Wazirpur (Gurgaon) is IDIB000W015.

Using IFSC for NEFT Transfer

NEFT is commonly used to electronically transfer money from one bank account to another. It saves you the hassle of going to the bank and submitting a cheque. You simply need to enter the IFSC code of the bank branch of the beneficiary (any branch within India) and enter the amount of sum you want to transfer. However, the money is transferred to the beneficiary’s account in batches and not instantly.

Using Indian Bank IFSC Code for RTGS Transfer

RTGS, or Real Time Gross Settlement, offers instant settlement of the transferred funds into the beneficiary’s account (in any Indian bank). As soon as the funds are transferred, the recipient bank receives a notification. The funds have to be credited to the beneficiary’s account within half an hour. To initiate the transaction, you need to provide the IFSC of the bank.

Using IFSC for IMPS Transfer

Interbank Mobile Payment Services, or IMPS, is a transaction which is done electronically between two banks while using the mobile number of the recipient. The fund is transferred immediately and the transaction can performed anytime and anywhere, even on holidays.
