HSBC Bank IFSC Code: HSBC MICR Code & Branch Addresses in India

IFSC is the acronym for Indian Financial System Code. This standard is used to accommodate monetary transfers between different bank branches. The electronic transfer systems like RTGS and NEFT use this alphanumeric code to direct the transactions to the destination bank branch.

In HSBC, IFSC codes vary for every branch. For instance, the HSBC Gurgaon IFSC code is different from the HSBC Pune IFSC code. The same applies to other branches as well.

This eleven character HSBC IFSC code is programmed to convey the bank name in the first four characters and the branch name in the last six letters. The zero on the fifth position denotes a reserved character for any likely future use.

For any domestic electronic transactions via HSBC, IFSC code is mandatory to facilitate the process. However, it isn’t used for international transactions. It can, however, be used to aid the transfer of funds between branches of HSBC or for inter-bank electronic fund transfers.
