    TATA AIG Corona Kavach Policy- Eligibility Criteria

    Here is the eligibility criterion to buy the TATA AIG Corona kavach policy:

    • Age limit for adults: 18 years to 65 years
    • Dependent children: Day 1 to 25 years

    People older than 65 years can buy the policy for their dependent family members without getting themselves covered

    • Family members under the family floater plan: Spouse, parents/parents-in-law, and children
    • Waiting Period- 15 days from the policy purchase date
    • Sum Insured-Rs 50,000 - Rs 5 lakh
    • Policy Tenure: 3.5 months, 6.5 months, 9.5 months

    Coverage under Tata AIG Corona Kavach Policy

    This benefit includes the following:

    COVID-19 Hospitalization Cover: The cost of hospitalization on testing positive for COVID-19 in a government-authorized testing Centre is covered. It includes:

    • Room rent, ICU/ICCU expenses, bed charges, and nursing fees
    • Consultation fees for surgeons, specialist doctors, medical practitioners, and anesthetists
    • Costs for blood, surgical appliances, oxygen, ventilator, anesthesia, operation theatre, medicines, and drugs
    • Diagnostics, PPE kits, diagnostic imaging modalities, mask, and gloves
    • COVID health claim is admissible only if the hospitalization is for a minimum of 24-hours

    Pre-Hospitalization: Pre-hospitalization and home care treatment expenses incurred 15 days before hospitalization or admission date are compensated.

    Post-Hospitalization: Post-hospitalization charges and home care medical expenses for a maximum of 30 days from the hospital discharge date or completion of treatment are paid for.  

    Road ambulance: TATA AIG Corona kavach policy also pays for road ambulance services related to COVID-19-related hospitalization. The limit is up to Rs 2000 per hospitalization. It includes transportation from one hospital to another under advice from a medical practitioner.  

    Home care treatment Expenses: Treatment taken at home for up to 14 days after a positive COVID-19 diagnosis at a government-authorized diagnostic center. This cover is subject to the following:

    • Doctor’s advice for COVID treatment at home
    • Continuous treatment with daily monitoring by a doctor
    • Maintenance of daily monitoring chart with treatment records that are duly signed by the attending doctor

    Coverage includes medical investigations as per treating doctors prescription-related to COVID-19, prescribed medicines, and doctor’s consultations, nursing costs parenteral administration of medicines, oximeters, cost of oxygen cylinders, and the nebulizer.  

    AYUSH treatment: Inpatient hospitalization expenses under Yoga, Ayurveda, Unani, Naturopathy, Siddha, and Homeopathy are covered after a positive COVID-19 diagnosis at a government-authorized diagnostic Centre.

    Add-on benefits: The coverage can be enhanced with an optional Daily Hospital Cash add-on benefit at a nominal price. You can save money on your day-to-day healthcare spends by getting 0.5% of the sum insured on daily basis for 24-hours of continuous COVID-19 hospitalization and is payable for a maximum of 15 days.

    What is not covered under TATA AIG Corona Kavach Policy?

    • The policy does not cover expenses incurred only on diagnostics
    • Treatment and diagnosis outside the geographical scope of coverage
    • Any Covid-19 related health claim that was not diagnosed before the policy commencement date
    • The cost of COVID Testing at any of the non-government authorized diagnostic Centers
    • The policy benefits will be ceased if the insured person travels to any other country put under travel restrictions
    • Rehabilitation, rest cure, and respite care
