Who can buy SBI Corona Kavach Policy?

Individuals who are 18 years to 65 years old can buy the SBI Corona kavach policy. You can get health insurance cover for yourself, your spouse, children, parents, including in-laws.

Eligibility Criteria

The entry age criteria, waiting period, and policy term of SBI Corona kavach policy are given below:

• Minimum and Maximum Entry Age- 18 years and 65 years
• Sum Insured Options- Rs 50,000 and Rs 5 lakh (in multiples of Rs 50,000)
• Waiting period- To avail of the policy benefits you need to complete a waiting period of 15 days, till then no claim can be filed
• Members Covered-Coverage is provided to legally wedded spouse, parents, dependent children (natural or legally adopted), and parents-in-law under the policy
• Tax Benefits-Policyholders can also avail of tax benefits under Section 80D of the Income Tax Act, 1961 against the policy premium paid
• Policy Tenure- SBI General Corona Kavach Policy is a short term policy that can be purchased for 3.5 months, 6.5 months, and 9.5 months
• Co-payment- There is no co-payment clause and you get optional daily hospital cash cover

Inclusions of SBI Corona Kavach Policy

This policy covers the following subject to the terms and conditions:

• Your hospital room rent, doctor fees, and boarding charges
• ICU and operation theatre charges, and nursing expenses
• The cost of medicines used during coronavirus treatment are also compensated
• Road Ambulance charges are covered
• Pre and post-hospitalization expenses up to 15 days and 30 days respectively
• Add-on Cover- Daily hospital cash benefit equal to 0.5% of the sum insured on daily basis ON every 24 hours of hospitalization for COVID-19 treatment on a positive diagnosis of the disease. The coverage is provided for a maximum of 15 days

Exclusions of SBI Corona Kavach Policy

• The policy does not cover any expenses related to admission primarily for diagnostics purposes. Any diagnostic expenses that are not related to the current treatment and diagnosis are not covered
• Diagnosis/ treatment outside the geographical scope of coverage
• Any claim related to Covid-19 that has not been diagnosed before the policy start date
• COVID Testing done at non-government authorized diagnostic Centers
• The policy benefits will be ceased if the insured person travels to any other country that has been put under travel restriction by the Govt. of India
• Rehabilitation, respite care, and rest cure
