    Eligibility Criteria

    The entry age criteria, waiting period, sub-limits and waiting period of Liberty Corona Kavach policy are given below:

    Minimum & Maximum entry age:18 years up to 65 years can purchase this policy.

    Members Covered: Policy can be availed for self and the following family members.

    • WIfe.
    • Parents
    • Parents-in-law.
    • Children (born or adopted) between 1 day old up to the age of 25 years. Kid above 18 years and financially independent will not be provided cover.

    Waiting Period: There is a waiting period of 15 days to avail of the benefits of the Corona Kavach policy.

    Sub-limits: 0.5% of SI each day that are subject to maximum of 15 days in a policy period for every insured member.

    Home care treatment: Maximum up to 14 days per incident.

    Policy Period: Three and a half month (3 and a ½ month), six and a half months (6 and a ½ month), nine and a half months (9 and a ½ month) including waiting period.

    Sum Insured: Liberty Corona Kavach health insurance policy provides a sum insured amount of Rs. 50,000 up to Rs. 5,00,000. In individual health cover, the sum insured will be allowed for each individual family member and in floater cover, the sum insured will be allowed to the whole family.

    Inclusions of the Liberty Corona Kavach

    The liberty corona kavach health insurance policy provides coverage to the policyholder for the following:

    • The policy will provide cover for Room rent expenses.
    • Boarding and nursing expenses are also covered under this policy.
    • Intensive care unit, Intensive cardiac care unit will be covered.
    • Fess of Surgeon, Anesthetist, medical practitioner, consultants, specialist. Whether paid directly to the doctor or the hospital
    • The policy will cover for Anesthesia, blood, oxygen, operation theatre charges, ventilator, PPE Kits, gloves masks, drugs, diagnostics cost and such similar other expenses.
    • Road ambulance charges that are subject to a maximum of Rs. 2000 per hospitalization for the services provided by hospital or ambulance service provider. When the policyholder is suffering from covid and has to utilize the travel to hospital by ambulance, the company will accept the claim raised by him.
    • Home treatment expenses: When the doctor has advised the policyholder to undergo treatment at home.
    • AYUSH treatment: The insurance company will indemnify the medical expenses incurred during the inpatient care treatment.
    • Pre and Post hospitalization expenses.

    Optional Cover

    The insurance company will provide cover for the below mentioned optional benefit:

    Hospital Daily Cash: If the policyholder has to continue his/her hospitalization then the company will pay 0.5% of SI per day. In respect of the policyholder, the benefits of the policy will be payable for 15 days maximum during the policy period.

    Exclusions of Liberty Corona Kavach

    The insurance company will not provide cover for the following:

    • Investigation & Evaluaion: The company will not provide cover for the expenses related to the admission primarily for diagnostics and evaluation purposes. Diagnostics expenses related to the current diagnosis and treatment will also not be covered.
    • Rest cure, Rehabilitation and respite care: The policy will not cover any admission primarly for enforced bedrest and not for receiving treatment. (i) Custodial care at home or nursing facility is not covered. (ii) People who are terminally ill to address physical, social, emotional and spitritual need will not be covered.
    • Unproven treatment: The policy will not cover for any unproven treatment, service in connection with any treatment.
    • If the covid is diagnosed prior to the policy start date will not be covered.
    • Expenses incurred in daycare treatment and OPD treatment are not covered.
    • Expenses incurred in Treatment/diagnostics outside the geographical limit of India will not be covered.
    • Any kind of testing done that is not authorized by the government will not be covered.
    • If the policyholder travels to any country that has been restricted to travel by the government of India, the policy will be ceased by the insurer.

    Claim Procedure

    Follow the procedure mentioned below to raise a cashless claim in the Liberty Corona Kavach.

    • Treatment may be taken in a network provider and is subject to preauthorization by the company or its authorized TPA.
    • Cashless request form should be properly filled that is available with the network provider and TPA and then sent to the company for authorization.
    • When the company/TPA gets a cashless request form and related medical information from the insured person/network provider. They will issue a pre-authorized letter to the hospital after verification.
    • The policyholder will have to verify and sign the discharge papers at the time of getting discharged and pay for non-medical and inadmissible expenses.
    • In case the policyholder is unable to provide the relevant medical details, the company can deny pre-authorization
    • The policyholder may obtain the treatment on the advice of the doctor and then submit the claim documents of the company to get reimbursement in case the claim is denied.
