How to Create an Account and Login?

To sign up for FASTag, a customer has to complete the one-time registration to activate the particular tag number for his/her vehicle. The undermentioned details will help you to know more about the registration process:

  • If you have recorded yourself as an individual, you can use the Retail login to access the account.
  • After that, Enter your Customer ID in the field, which starts with 17 or 18 and it is a 13 digit numeric number. Find your customer ID in the welcome Mailer sent to your registered ID or Mobile number.
  • If you find your mobile number then enter it and click on Next Step.
  • You will receive the one-time Password option (Generate OTP) on your registered mobile number for authenticating the request of the password set up.
  • The portal promotes the new password after completing the successful validation of the OTP. (Password has to set-up in an alphanumeric, special character, minimum 8 characters maximum 20 characters).
  • The next step is to select at least three questions from a dropdown menu and provide an appropriate answer for all. Then click on the continue option to complete the registration process and to access the FASTag account.
  • At last, you will automatically be displayed at the Login Page where the customer needs to log in. Just enter the USER ID and New password to access your FASTag account.

  • Firstly, you’ll have to survey the official websites of the different banks.     2. Here, you choose the New Payment option and then hit FASTag from the list.
    3. FASTag is offered by several banks so you have to go for the FASTag issues in this section. As you select the issues, your name will pop-up.
    4. Click get started and choose your bank account in this section. Make sure you enter the Vehicle number that you want to recharge or connect.

    Your account will be linked and now you can always use Google pay to add fund to the FASTag account. You can change the threshold amount as well.

  • Using PhonePe to Recharge

    PhonePe is an Indian UPI money transfer app and it is also featuring the option to recharge the FASTag account.

    1. Install the PhonePe App and open it. Now, scroll down to the Recharge and bill payments options.
    2. Here you can easily find the FASTag Recharge button. Now, click on the Recharge button to get started.
    3. After that, choose the issuing bank of your FASTag account. The name of the bank is on the left side of your FASTag sticker.
    4. After choosing the bank, enter the vehicle number to link the account. It will take a couple of seconds.
    5. Once you click, then enter the recharging amount and proceed to payment.
  • Using Paytm to Recharge

    1. Install the Paytm Application as if you don’t use it. Now, open the app and find the all services Tab.
    2. Click on the all services Tab and hit Recharge and Bills option from the menu.
    3. There is a FASTag recharge option and follow the same step of selecting the issuer bank name.
    4. Then, fill in your vehicle number linked to the FASTag account. The account is linked, and you can proceed with payment here.

    Note: Paytm offers the Manage FASTag option. You can use it for your vehicle and commercial vehicle. You can similarly add money to your Paytm FASTag account as you do with your Paytm wallet. You can also recharge other tolls.

How Can You Buy Your FASTag?

The customer can buy their FASTag at various points of sale (POS). NHAI (the National Highways Authority of India) has set up for more than 30,000 POS. You can buy FASTag online via a bank. You can also choose electronic commerce (e-commerce) platforms like- Amazon etc. to buy FASTag. You will have to share the certified copy of your vehicle and details in the electronic form.

Just pay Rs 350 for instant order on Paytm. Your FASTag will be delivered to your doorstep within a few days. After that, you must stick it to the windscreen of the vehicle. Whenever you reach a FASTag toll plaza, the toll fee will be deducted automatically. Approx. 75% of toll collector on National highways is using the FASTag at present time.

What is the Fee for FASTag?

Generally, FASTags are issuing by authorized banks. They can charge a maximum of Rs 100 for each tag. The maximum amount had decided by the National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI). That is a fixed amount. Apart from this, one must deduct a non-refundable deposit amount which varies for various types of vehicles.

Documents Required to Buy FASTag

The users applying for a FASTag have to furnish the following documents:

  2. You can submit the KYC documents while travelling at the National Highway Toll Plazas and collect your FASTag.
