What are the Cover Options Offered Under the Zurich Life Critical Illness Insurance?
The Zurich Life and Critical Illness Insurance offers the following cover options:
Life Cover: Under this Zurich Life Insurance cover option, your nominee will receive the death benefit on your death or you will receive the chosen cover amount on the diagnosis of a terminal illness.
Critical Illness Cover: In this cover option, the policy will pay the cover amount on the diagnosis of a critical illness covered under the plan.
Life Cover and Critical Illness: With this cover option, the sum assured will be paid on the death of the policyholder, diagnosis of terminal illness, or diagnosis of a critical illness covered under the policy.
In the latter two cover options, you can also opt for the Additional Payment Conditions, under which less severe conditions can be covered at an additional premium, and a lower amount will be paid out. On the diagnosis of an Additional Payment Condition, £25,000 or 25% of the sum assured (whichever is lower) will be paid, and the policy will continue as normal.

Level Cover: The premiums and the sum assured remain constant throughout the policy term
Increasing Cover: The sum assured will increase yearly at a fixed rate decided by the insurer, 3%, 5%, or the retail price index. For every 1% increase in the sum assured, the premiums will increase by 1.5%.
Decreasing Cover: The premiums under this stay the same while the cover decreases every month, in line with the loan or mortgage repayment

Children’s Benefit by Zurich Life and Critical Illness
Zurich's Children’s Benefit provides coverage for policyholders' children until age 22, including:
Children’s Critical Illness Cover: Up to £25,000 or 50% of the sum assured for critical illnesses.
Children’s Death Benefit: £5,000 payout if the child passes away after 30 days.
The policy continues unchanged after a claim, but each child can only claim under one Full Payment condition.
Children’s Conversion Benefit
Zurich's Children’s Conversion Benefit allows children covered under the policy to start their own Critical Illness Cover or Life Cover and Critical Illness policy between ages 16 and 22. They can receive coverage up to £25,000 or 50% of the sum assured on the parent's policy without needing to disclose personal circumstances if they haven't made a claim under the parent's policy.
Multi-Fracture Cover
Zurich's Multi-Fracture Cover offers financial protection for fractures, dislocations, ruptured tendons, or torn ligaments. Depending on the location of the injury, policyholders can receive payouts of £2,000, £4,000, or £6,000, with a maximum payout of £6,000 per policy year. This benefit is available from age 16 to one day before the 64th birthday and automatically ends on the day before the 70th birthday. Exclusions apply to certain activities like sports, and claiming under this benefit does not affect other policy cover.
Milestone Benefit
Zurich's Milestone Benefit allows policyholders to increase their coverage within 90 days of significant life events such as moving house, getting married, or having a child. There's no need to disclose changes in health or personal circumstances, and the policyholder must be 54 years or younger to make this change. The maximum increase in coverage is capped at the lower of the original sum assured, or £200,000.
Separation Benefit
Zurich's Separation Benefit allows policyholders with joint policies who undergo separation, divorce, or dissolution of their civil partnership to cancel the joint policy and start individual policies without providing additional details about their health or personal circumstances.
