SBI Mutual Fund is one of India’s largest and most trusted asset management companies. Established on June 29, 1987, it is managed by SBI Mutual Fund Trustee Company Private Limited, set up under the Indian Trust Act of 1882. The fund is a joint venture between the State Bank of India, the country’s largest public sector bank, and Amundi, a leading French asset management company.

With a legacy of innovation, SBI Mutual Fund has several milestones to its name—it was the first to launch a ‘Contra’ fund in India and the first to introduce an ESG fund, promoting sustainable investing. It also acquired Daiwa Mutual Fund in 2013 and marked a significant step in 2015 when EPFO invested ₹5,000 crore via its Sensex ETFs.

As of March 2024, SBI Mutual Fund manages assets worth ₹49,394.17 Crore and stands among the top mutual fund houses in India, regulated by SEBI.
