Authorities said the fire started in a warehouse storing cardboard boxes used for coolers. It spread rapidly to a cooler manufacturing unit and then to two nearby warehouses and a teddy bear factory.
Emergency teams responded quickly after receiving reports of the incident. Fire and police officials confirmed that multiple units were affected. Pradeep Kumar, Chief Fire Officer of Noida, confirmed that no one was injured. He added that fire brigades from Hapur, Ghaziabad, and Bulandshahr, along with private fire vehicles, were deployed to assist. "Thankfully, no one was trapped inside," he said.
Officials are now investigating whether the affected units had proper fire safety clearances. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central Noida) Shakti Mohan Avasthy stated that a detailed inquiry will be conducted
Thick smoke was visible from over a kilometer away, alarming nearby residents and passersby. Roads leading to the site were blocked, allowing only emergency vehicles through.
The fire was first reported around noon, and within an hour, multiple fire engines had reached the location. Firefighters continued to work for hours to contain the flames.
A security guard from the factory said that most workers were on leave due to Eid, and the factory was closed when the fire broke out. "It started in the warehouse and spread quickly. We immediately called the fire department," he said.
The intense heat could be felt from a distance, and additional water tankers were brought in to support firefighting efforts. Heavy machinery was also used to break down walls and clear debris. Police personnel were deployed to manage the crowd and ensure safety.
Senior fire officer Yogendra Chaurasia stated that over 35 fire engines made multiple trips to control the situation. "It is a large-scale fire, and complete extinguishing will take more time," he said.
A local shop owner, Sumit Malik, reported that two warehouses filled with goods were destroyed in the fire.
Firefighters described the challenges they faced. "This is one of the biggest fires we have seen in recent years. The heat was unbearable, so we had to wear wet clothes to protect ourselves while entering the burning buildings. Fortunately, no chemicals were involved, only cardboard and plastic," one firefighter shared.
CFO Kumar explained that the presence of paper and plastic made it difficult to put out the fire quickly
