Ladli Pension Scheme was launched by the State Government of Haryana and it is accountable in both the rural and urban areas covering the state. The prime aim of the Ladli Scheme is to uplift the female child's status and value in both her family and society as well. The scheme was launched in the year 2006. This scheme will also provide the right to birth and survival and fight against the girl child's foeticide. It also promotes the education of the child and improves the decreasing sex ratio of female.

Eligibility Criteria for Ladli Pension Scheme

To claim the Ladli Scheme’s benefits, a family has to meet some guidelines that will make the family fall under the scheme's eligibility criteria. Here is the list of criteria that the family needs to apply for this scheme:

  • This plan can be applied by the families having only girl children. If a family has a boy child (either a biological son or an adopted son) then the family can't claim the benefits.

  • The biological parents of the girl child should live in Haryana or work under Haryana's government.

  • Another important point to be noted under this scheme is the annual income. The net annual income of the family, including all the sources, shouldn't exceed Rs.2,00,000. The families that fall under this category can claim the benefits.

  • The family that is enrolled on the scheme will receive the pension amount for a fixed period.  The family will be entitled to this scheme for 15 years, beginning from the date when either of the child's parents crosses over the age of 45.

  • The child's birth has to be registered under the government, and the parents must make sure that the child is properly immunized.

  • At least one family member needs to reside with the child in the state of Haryana.

  • The child needs to be enrolled in the school, based on the age of the child.

  • The amount will be paid to either the mother or the father of the child enrolled under this scheme.

Ladli Scheme offers specific features associated with the betterment of a girl child's life. Here are several features of the scheme:

  • The Ladli Pension Scheme will provide financial security to the girl child.

  • It also helps in providing assistance to the family of the girl child.

  • This scheme will help in removing the insecurities among the families having a girl child, thus encouraging the families to provide a better life for her.

  • Using this scheme, the government of Haryana tries to promote the education of the children. This will, in turn, ensure that the child is not dropped out of school and she is provided with proper education, which will be helpful for her in future.

  • A family can be enrolled under this scheme when either of the girl's parents attains the age of 45. The plan will provide funds for 15 years. After the age of 60, the parents under the Ladli Pension Scheme will become eligible for the Old Age Samman Allowance scheme.

  • By implementing this scheme, the government tries to eradicate gender-selection abortion, thus realizing the value of a girl child in society and the importance of being treated properly.

The Ladli Pension Scheme has various benefits associated with it,

  • The plan provides confidence to the family who has only girl children.

  • Under this scheme, the government provides Rs.1800 to all the families who have only girl children.

  1. Death Benefits

    • In case of the demise of any of the child's parents, the Ladli Pension Scheme provides an option for the other parent to be benefitted. And the required steps are taken by the officials concerned.

    • If the father of the child is dead during the course of the scheme, the child's mother will be eligible to claim the pension amount.

    • If the mother of the child is dead during the period of the scheme, the child's father can receive the pension amount.

    • When the surviving partner turns 60 years, she/he will be eligible to apply for the scheme of the Old Age Samman Allowance.

  2. Monthly Contribution

    • This scheme is launched purely for the families who are struggling to raise their girl child.

    • There is no contribution needed by the beneficiary for the scheme Ladli Scheme.

    • The beneficiary of this scheme will receive the amount specified every month from the government.

How to apply for Ladli Pension?

There are several documents that need to be submitted to apply for the Ladli Scheme.

  • Identity proof of the parents. i.e., AADHAAR card

  • Certificate of age proof for the parents

  • Birth certificate of the child

  • Proof of address. i.e., Below Poverty Line ration card

  • Income certificate of the parents

  • Proof for Domiciliation

  • Photocopy of bank passbook

  • Passport size photograph

Application Process

Step 1: Visit the official website for the Ladli Pension Scheme.

Step 2: Click on the download tab.

Step 3: Select the application form for the Ladli Pension Scheme and click on download.

Step 4: The page will be directed to another page where the application form can be downloaded.

Step 5: Download the application form and enter all the details asked with utmost accuracy.

Step 6: Attach all the documents required and ensure with the checklist provided in the application form.

Step 7: Submit the application to the concerned department of social justice.

Step 8: The applicant also has an option to apply for the scheme using Atal Seva Kendra, and the steps are as follows:

  • Any eligible applicant can download the form from the website.

  • Fill in all the details required and attach the documents that are necessary.

  • Submit the Ladli social security allowance scheme's application form to the nearby Atal Seva Kendra officials.

  • The application then will be forwarded to the authorities concerned for verification.

Step 9: Upon the successful verification of the application status, a beneficiary ID will be given to the applicant. The ID will be sent to the mobile number registered.

Step 10: Once the application is approved, the pension amount will be credited to the girl's parent's account.

How to Track Ladli Pension Scheme details?

The beneficiary can track the pension details using the following steps:

Step 1: Visit the official website of the department of social justice Haryana.

Step 2: Select the track beneficiary pension details option from the list of menus.

Step 3: The page will be redirected to a new page where options are provided to enter the beneficiary ID.

Step 4: Enter the beneficiary ID and the security code shown below to login into the account.

Step 5: Click on the button, 'view details'.

Step 6: Now the beneficiary can see the pension details with respect to the Ladli Scheme.  

FAQ's on Ladli Pension

  • Can any family under the poverty line apply for this scheme?

    No, all the families lying under the poverty line can't apply for this scheme. A family that has only girl children can apply for this scheme. The applying family should not have either a biological son or an adopted son.
  • Does the girl child need to have a bank account of her own?

    There is no need for the girl child to have an account of her own. On the scheme's successful application, the pension amount will directly be credited to the parent's account that is associated during the registration.
  • Will the family get a pension amount for their entire life?

    The family can get their pension amount for a period of 15 years from the date of application. To claim for this scheme, either of the child's parents needs to be above 45 years.
  • What would happen to the pension amount if the parents of the child died?

    In case of the child's father's demise, the mother will be eligible to receive the pension amount. In case of the child's mother's demise, the father will be eligible to receive the pension amount.
  • Do both the parents of the child need to reside in Haryana for the entire course of the scheme?

    It is not necessary that both the parents of the child need to reside in Haryana. The parents can either live in Haryana or work at any government office in Haryana. But, it is essential that any of her parents need to reside in Haryana with her.
  • How will the beneficiary of the scheme be paid?

    Upon the successful registration for this scheme, the bank details of the beneficiary will be collected. The pension amount will directly be credited to the bank account that is associated with the scheme. The payment will be made on a monthly basis.
  • What is the use of beneficiary ID in correspondence with the Ladli Scheme?

    The beneficiary ID is used to track the pension details associated with the scheme. An option will be provided on the official website to access the pension details of the beneficiary.
