Thanks for reaching out, Manish. Yes, health insurance plans in India cover most dermatology or skin problems. If you own a health insurance policy, you can raise a claim to cover your treatment costs for dermatology problems. Yet, from one insurance carrier to another, the extent of coverage may differ. For instance, the majority of health insurance policies only pay for inpatient costs related to dermatological procedures or treatments. These may omit daycare treatments and OPD consultation expenses. On the other hand, certain health insurance providers could cover the cost of hospitalization, OPD visits, and daycare operations.

To determine what kinds of dermatological treatments are covered, you must carefully examine the terms and conditions of health insurance coverage before purchasing it.

Further, dermatology includes diseases including cancer, ageing, and aesthetic issues with the skin, hair, nails, fat, oral, and genital membranes that fall into the ambit of dermatology.

Types of Dermatology Treatment Covered by Health Insurance Take a look at the various dermatology treatment covered under most health insurance plans: Skin Cancer Treatment, Acne Skin Cancer Removal, Skin Viral Diseases Rashes, Skin Fungal Infections, Reconstructive Surgery, Psoriasis, Skin Allergies, Poison Ivy Rash, Port Wine Stains, and Keloid Scars.

Diseases are not covered under Health Insurance: Cosmetic surgery, Non-accidental Plastic surgery, Botox Tattoo Removal, Fillers, Chemical Peels, Microdermabrasion, and Facials.

The waiting period: If you have health insurance, you can file a claim to cover the cost of your treatment. An insured, on the other hand, have to serve a waiting period. After the waiting period has passed, coverage for skin treatment can be claimed. In most cases, a typical health insurance coverage has a one- or two-year waiting period for dermatology.

Meanwhile, we have arranged a callback from our insurance advisor to help you with the purchase also you can visit the following link to know more about Dermatology Insurance.
